Why it matters
Improving employment outcomes for people who have been or are at risk of being long term unemployed is a priority for services across the UnitingCare network because work can improve social inclusion, health and wellbeing. Getting a job can be a motivator and enabler for dealing with personal, health and skill barriers, as well as a goal in itself. However, a narrow focus on getting a job in a short timeframe is not effective. Landing a stable job is the result of a holistic response to a person’s personal circumstances, family responsibilities, community context, skills and education potential and an ability to match a person’s capability to local labour market opportunities.
If you are here looking for employment or volunteering opportunities within the UnitingCare network, please find an organisation using our Find a Service page, and contact the organisation directly.
